Did Lebron walk off the court ?

I saw the game last night. Lebron had a good night statistically BUT Lebron lost us the game last nite. Yes..I said it.

He missed a critical free throw and played poor defense (the whole team did actually..) in OT. As a fan , I can pardon both these issues. But when I saw Lebron didn't go back to his defensive position after this 3 point brick in the final 16 seconds ,that is not a good sign. I heard the PTI guys say that NIKE,ESPN & NBA would not like to see this. I have a bigger and more serious issue...the FANS don't want to see this.

I know..I know...these kids are spoilt brats. But I am going to forgive this one incident and hope he does not do it again. Because if he does , it does not set a good example to say someone like Shannon Brown. Its not enough to call yourself a leader , its important to act like one.

All said and done...he is 21.I want cut him some slack here , but just this one time.

PS - Pdxrocks , I just saw your comment when I posted this article. Nice timing !

The Cavs were down 9 and Atlanta was dribbling out the clock. What did you want LeBron to do, foul?

He just got a headstart to the locker room. And let's face it, after missing an important free-throw and hearing fans boo him in his own building, I can't really blame his eagerness to leave the court.

No I did not want him to foul. I wanted him to go back to the other end of the court , until the clock runs out.

I heard that , during practice Lebron sets the example as being the last one to leave. I hope he can do that on the court , no matter if we are winning or losing.

You have to set a example when you are a leader... You are saying atlanta was dribbling the ball but if you see the video you can see the other cavs players looking at lebron from the other side of the court.. Plus as i mentioned in my other comment randy moss was criticized for walking off with 2 s left.. this is worse but since lebron has had a cleaner past than randy media has completely ignored this except for this blog :)

I am just happy that both My Rockets and Blazers are doing good...

There is a difference. Being the last one to leave practice speaks to his work ethic which can inspire teammates to work harder. That's leadership by example.

Staying on the court an extra few seconds when his presence means absolutley nothing as far as the outcome of the game is concerned has nothing to do with leadership. If any of his teammates feel let down by him leaving, that's their problem.

Sure it might seem like he quit on his team, but really, it shouldn't. Because he didn't. He give it his all during the game, put up unbelievable numbers, and gave his team a chance to win -- that's not what quitters do.

Don't get me wrong. He definitely lost the game for them with the missed FT and his inability to put a body on Lue in transition giving up the layup that sent the game to OT. But he left the floor when the game was over. There may have been 10 seconds left on the clock. But the game WAS OVER.

I have to agree to disagree... I dont think it makes no diff whethere he is there or not.. It is not leading by example.. Since I am not a CAVS fan I shouldnt bother abt this incident too

It is blown out of proportion. Yeah, he walked the wrong way. But the game was OVER!

Someone explain to me how its a matter of leadership if he chose to run the other way. leadership won't even be a part of the conversation, then. its just a bad game for lebron and the cavs.

Now move on, and stop being picky.

I am inclined to agree with magesh here. There really was no shot at winning. And he did really give it his all, all through the night. So, all the talk about him quitting is BS. Too much attention to things that hardly make a difference. That being said, I am sure he wouldn't repeat this little mistake, given how the media talked about this in every show. It's a small error in judgement and there's not much more to it !
